RALEIGH

William (Bill) Henry Brooks, aged 97, passed into immortality on Saturday, September 26,2020.  He was married for over 50 years to his wife, Dorothy Mae Webber, who preceded him in death 21 years ago.  Native of Oklahoma, he moved to the Bay Area of CA following the Dust Bowl which destroyed the family farm and home.  Bill served in WWII in the Pacific theater in the Navy.  He worked at Shell Chemical in Martinez CA for 32 years and then retired to Arnold, CA in the Sierra Nevada mountains.  He is survived by 2 of his 3 children, Patti Heaps and Ron Brooks.  His son Bob passed in 2019.  He leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one of his 3 siblings, Mildred Byars, and many loving nieces and nephews.  He loved family, playing cards, watching westerns and riding his mobility scooter around the neighborhood.  He will be remembered as a loving, kind, unassuming, gentle man.
