Obituary

William Henry Dail III, affectionately known to friends and family as Bill or Billy, passed away

on April 20, 2026. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, and a graduate of Millbrook High School,

Bill was a man whose life was defined by hard work, a deep love for his family, and an

unwavering faith.

When many thought of Bill, they couldn't help but think about a man who worked hard on behalf

of his family. He spent many decades dedicated to the family plumbing business, which was

founded by his father in Raleigh during the 1950s. Alongside his brother and their children, Bill

carried on a legacy of craftsmanship and service that spanned generations.

Beyond his professional life, Bill was truly a family man. He cherished the time spent golfing with

his sons and enjoyed many peaceful vacations with his beloved wife in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Bill was also a man of many answers; if you asked him a question, he was guaranteed to

provide an explanation. While he encouraged a bit of "fact-checking" now and then, his desire to

share knowledge and offer support made him a cornerstone for those who sought his guidance.

Most importantly, Bill would want to be remembered for his devotion as one of Jehovah’s

Witnesses. His faith was the guiding force of his life. He spent countless hours in the volunteer

ministry and found great joy in supporting the construction of Kingdom Halls, helping to build

places of worship for his community.

Bill leaves behind his wife of 58 years Paulette Plemmons Dail and their three sons and their

families:

● William Henry "Dusty" Dail IV and wife Angela. Children: Joshua, Victoria and Sam

● Jason Dail and wife Terry, son Luke

● Ryan Dail and wife Andrea

Additionally, he leaves behind his brother, Randall Dail, Sr. and wife Lola, and Randall’s

children:

● Nephew Randall Dail, Jr, and wife Nicole. Children: Conner and Avery; and his niece,

● Jennifer Waters and her husband Dale. Children: Andrew and Madilyn, along with

their extended families.

Bill also leaves behind extended family members who will forever cherish his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the worldwide work of

Jehovah’s Witnesses at JW.org under the "Make Donations" section.
