GARNER

William Edward Gerringer Jr., "Billy", met Jesus on April 11, 2021 at 2:11am. He was at perfect peace and ready for his eternal transition, sealed by the redemption paid in full by Jesus Christ. He recently celebrated his 61st year of life on March 29th.
Billy was Son to William E. Gerringer Sr. (reunited in Heaven) and Ruby Womack Lombardy; Brother to Robin Gerringer Parks Stevens and Bobby Gerringer; Husband to Bonnie Council Gerringer (39 years); Daddy to Brandi Kraus, Brooke Miller, Brittany Williams, and Blair Owens; Father-in-Law to Shane Kraus, John Miller, Joe Williams, and Tyler Owens; Paw Paw to Noah John (reunited in Heaven), Luke William, Adam Joseph, Jonah Daniel, Annabel Corinne, Alice Mae, William Mark, Zachary Edward, Jacob Scott, James Michael, Benjamin Clay, George Timothy, Uncle to Rick Parks, Preston Parks, Garrett Parks, Molly Parks, Russell Parks, Stephen Gerringer, Thomas Gerringer, Michael Burdge, Catherine Burdge and their families, Brother-in-law, Cousin, Nephew, Neighbor, Band Member, Co-worker, Friend and much more to so many.
Billy enjoyed quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He walked endless miles with little ones on his shoulders, candy in his pockets, pushing them on swings, and fixing Power Wheels for them to enjoy riding in the back yard.
Billy enjoyed all things holidays, grilling, baking homemade birthday cakes, playing the guitar (like no one else could), helping his family and friends with their HVACs, and the yearly beach vacation his Mama blessed the family with for over 30 years.
Billy worked tirelessly to provide for his always-growing family. He was a quiet genius. There was no electrical or mechanical problem he could not solve- and easily.
Undeniably, the greatest moment of Billy's life was when Jesus Christ saved him. The Lord used the faithful ministry of Pastor Nate Ange and his flock at Landmark Church in Cary, NC to bring the gospel to our family. When Billy surrendered his life to Jesus, he became a man whose life was radically changed and enhanced in the best of ways. He became a child of King Jesus. Billy worshiped at Hilltop Church for the last 20+ years.
Billy learned and lived that the greatest form of human devotion and love is described in one word: TIME. He always made time for people. He was always present. He was always aware. He always cared. He always acted. He was always involved. He was truly a selfless, simple man.
The absence of his earthy presence is a crushing loss. The assurance of his current heavenly home is cause for endless celebration! The factual existence of an eternity with the Lord Jesus is a reality for all who repent and believe the Gospel of Christ. So, for the redeemed, we err if we say goodbye without adding "for now". It is in this assurance that we are able to cope for the remaining earthly years without our beloved Billy.
God bless you all.
