William Ray McCleary, 68, of Raleigh died Friday, March 11, 2022. He was born in Wake County to the late Claude and Eva McCleary and preceded in death by his brother Len McCleary.

He was a lover of sports and a huge Tarheel and Hurricanes fan. He was a self taught computer guru; he loved building computers and writing his own programs. In his younger years he loved doing Karate, playing Golf and Bowling.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Chesson and husband Randy, his sisters, Claudette Johnson and husband SM, Ann Self and husband Billy, Laura Extercamp and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday March 15, 2022 at Montlawn Funeral Home and the service to follow at 11.
