Obituary of William McKee

William Lawrence McKee, 81, of Raleigh, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at his home after several years of declining health.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Bladen County, William was born September 3, 1929, the son of the late William and Lucy Hobbs McKee. He was a retired correctional officer at Central Prison with 37 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Oma McKee; sons, Larry McKee and his wife Marsha of Valdese, William McKee II and Alan McKee, both of Raleigh, Dennis McKee of Holly Springs; daughter, Joyce Jones of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Timothy and Sam McKee, Rachel McClernon, Scott Jones, Crystal Jackson, Dakota and Nick McKee; two great grandchildren; sisters, Emily Watkins of Oxford, Linda Pritchard of Morganton; brothers, Harold, Vinson and Vernon McKee, all of Morganton. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Russ and Opal McKee and a brother, James McKee.
