Retired GySgt. William D. McLawhon, 70, passed away on May 25, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Harold L. McLawhorn and Mae Toko J. Tart McLawhon.

He is survived by his children; William McLawhon, Jr., Galen Buckner, Laurel Buckner, Shawn McLawhon, and Toko McLawhon, sister, Nancy Mae Toko Burns, brother, Richard D. McLawhon, grandchildren; LeAnna Bailey, Christopher Bailey, Heather Galloway, Collin McLawhon, Cayden Miller, Natasha McLawhon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in his memory.

A Graveside Services will be held on June 3, 2011 at noon, with full military honors. Visitation will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Condolences may be made to the family at www.montlawn.com Arrangements made by Montlawn Funerals and Cremations, Raleigh.
