William Loren Stainback went home to be with his Savior May 18th, 2017. Born in Henderson, NC, on April 29th, 1935, he graduated from Henderson High School and North Carolina State University. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Bill's Christian faith was very important in his life, serving in each church he attended, from St. Mark's United Methodist Church, to Crossroads Fellowship to his current church, Christ Covenant. He was also an avid fisherman and loved sports, particularly basketball.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ferebee Poythress Stainback, daughter Ginger Giddens (Daniel), and son Bruce Stainback (Jaime). Grandchildren Philip Giddens, Angelica Giddens, Rebecca Giddens, Alexandria Stainback, and Elijah Stainback.
Preceding him in death are his parents Otis Lee and Marie Murray Stainback, sister Amy Lee Myrick and grandson Daniel Franklin Giddens III.
