William Whitley, Sr., 88, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away on November 19, 2019 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC.

William was born on March 13, 1931 in Johnston County, North Carolina to the late William and Ivine Whitley.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Whitley, and sister Nellie Ellis.

He is survived by his four children, daughter Carolyn Whitley and sons Dexter Whitley, William Whitley, Jr., and Larry Whitley.  William is also survived by eighth grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC  27603, with a graveside service to follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.
