William Belvis Whitley, Jr., 63, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2022 at home.

William was born to the late William and Betty Whitley, a truck driver and homemaker, of Raleigh, North Carolina on May 23, 1958.

Known to many as 'Mr. Whitley' or simply 'Bell', he worked extremely hard to provide for his family.   Always aimed to make people feel welcome with his infectious smile that would light up the room, offering sage advice, or often going above and beyond in being supportive to his children. He was a man of few words, yet meaningful. He showed everyone that life is truly how you make it, it's always your choice. He absolutely loved anything Corvette related, car shows, and had an amazing passion for model cars.

William is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda; his son Shannon Whitley of Apex, NC; his daughters Shenise Johnson of Apex, NC and Shenna (Martina) Whitley of Wendell, NC; his brothers Dexter Whitley of Cary, NC and Larry Whitley of Durham, NC; his sister Carolyn Whitley of Raleigh, NC; his grandsons Justin Johnson of Apex, NC and Keshawn Whitley of Raleigh, NC; his granddaughter Kya Rutledge of Raleigh, NC; He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in William Whitley, Jr honor to: Acumen Mindset, a 501(c)(3) organization striving to provide offerings that support and empower minorities and others that are otherwise underserved within these areas due to the lack of access or funding.
