William Thomas Woodard Sr. (Bill)  of Angier, N.C. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday Morning January 7, 2020.  Bill  was married to Glendora Denning June 30, 1951, who was the love of his life.  Bill was loved by many, he was a giant of man, tough as nails, but yet sweet as sugar.  He loved his family without a doubt, he was always checking on them and trying to take care of them in his own special way, and in his prayers, he would always thank God for his family.   He was not a boastful man, he was simple and enjoyed the pleasures of living in the country on his farm. In his coveralls and straw hat, is how you would find him most days.   He was a farmer at heart, he loved watching his gardens grow, and cattle graze.  He loved to share his produce with his friends and family. He was always looking out for his family and friends.   A man of few words, but when he spoke people would listen.  His love for God kept him grounded and without a doubt you knew he loved God and his Church Family. He was a dedicated member to the Garner Church of God for more than 50 years. He was an honest, caring and faithful man with such a kind sweet spirit. He was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.   He will surely be missed but we find comfort knowing he is holding the hand of his "sweet thing" and praising his heavenly father.

He is survived by his children Gail Woodard, Angier, NC; Patricia Woodard, Angier, NC; Deborah Jones, New Bern, NC, Cathy Woodard, Alliance, NC; William Thomas Woodard Jr. and wife, Lisa J. Woodard; His grandchildren Stephen Jones, Avondale, Penn; Courtney Keith and husband, Joey Keith, Angier, NC; Tina Brooks and husband, Harry Brooks and Dakota Johnson, Raleigh NC; his Great Grandson Noah Jones, Oxford, PA; Great Granddaughter Holley Brooks, sister-in-law, Alice Woodard, sister-in-law Edna Woodard and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Glendora Denning Woodard, parents William Lewis Woodard and Deborah Powell Woodard.  Also, sisters Margaret Magdalene Martin(Roy), Virginia Brown(Thomas), Geneva Goldman Porter(George) and Miriam Woodard; brothers, Lewis Hiriam Woodard, Edward Bernard Woodard(Carol), Henry Pascal Woodard, Samuel Dale Woodard(Susie) and Wilbur Larry Woodard.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all who have cared for him and for each act of kindness given to him and his family.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Garner Church of God or Transitions Life Care Hospice Center of Wake County.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm at the Garner Church of God located at 2208 Benson Road Garner, NC 27529.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm at the Garner Church of God located at 2208 Benson Road, Garner NC 27529

Burial will follow at 3:30 Montlawn Cemetery located 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603
