IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Windall E.
Callahan
October 27, 1962 – April 27, 2020
RALEIGH
Windall Eugene Callahan went home to be with his Lord and Savior April 27, 2020 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mary Margaret Callahan; mother Delorse Nichols; mother in law, Irene Curry; two sisters, Charlene Vaughan and Renee Callahan; nephews, Johnathan Vaughan, Charles Bradshaw and Jeffrey Rudolph. He was predeceased by his father, John Callahan and his aunt, Louise Bullard.
Windall was a kind, loving, and humble man. He loved to fish, work on cars, and was a man who could fix anything. He was the carbon copy of his dad, John, who he loved and learned many life lessons from. Windall was a family man, he loved being with his mom no matter what they were doing, just being with her made him happy. He was on speed dial for Irene his mother in law, no matter what her call he would drop everything and run to her rescue. He would travel to the beach or wherever he was needed to help anyone. He spent hours and hours with his nephews fishing, going to the races, and teaching I mean showing them how he fixes stuff. He could fix anything. He was a jack of all trades, but his specialty was automobile body work. He had a great sense of humor.
Windall was one of the lucky ones to find true love. He loved and was loved by his wife of 28 years, Mary Margaret. They had that special bond unlike most, that would keep them in love with each other throughout the test of time. They completed each other pushing each other to try things, to be the best people they could be, to appreciate each other and accept their differences and love each other no matter what. It was the little things in life that meant the most to Windall, a kind word, a dish of collards, a ride to the beach to see his family, a trip across town to see his mom, a cooler full of shrimp, a good Nascar race, Mary's hand to hold, Thanksgiving dinners, a good scratch off lottery ticket, and his sweet little fur puppies.
He loved meeting new people; he had that personality that made you fall in love with him in minutes. He never met a stranger, to know him was to love him. He would help anyone no matter the cost. He was a kind soul, with a gentle heart; he is loved by many and will truly be missed.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all who have cared for him and for each act of kindness given to him and his family. The family would also like to ask for your continued prayers.
