She was an active member of the choir at St. John's AME Zion Church. She maintained her membership there until 2005 when she joined the Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church in Fuquay --Varina.
Although she passed after an extended illness, she maintained a positive outlook, always embracing life. Yvonne attended William G. Enloe High School. She worked at J. C.
